Soy Virgin Jeff Captures Cup - Contributes to a Weekend Dominated by In-Laws
King of Soy XXIII Victor Wrestles Cup from Defending Champ

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (May 22, 2011) - Jeff Watts, a mild mannered insurance professional from Atlanta, Georgia claimed King of Soy XXIII with a commanding win over a field of athletes seemingly impaired from the evening activities. Jeff, the brother-in-law of Tom "Whitey" White, withstood challenge by both the Dye, Norman and Love layouts, but also pre-round intimidation, most notably by reigning champion Scott "Scotty" Gore. Watts valiantly overcame a Sunday morning wake-up call from Gore, which incorporated the reigning champion's own balls and wood. South Carolina black bear and pygmy rattlers further threatened his final round. Ronald "Mondo" Clauss finished second, and the two athletes who further completed the final foursome, Donald "DXL" Nurnberger and Ryan "Ryno" Siemers offered no challenge, except to oneselves.

Aside from the annual competition for the cup, Soy athletes further represented the United States of America and all things independent and revolutionary by playing alongside English mates, brought to the former colony through Soy athlete and Clauss in-law, Andrew Warrington. His father's annual golf outing, the Warren Cup, joined Soy, golf's greatest tournament of athletes, in a trans-Atlantic challenge. Aside from the links, athletes of all nationalities further participated in Myrtle Beach's fine American attractions of distilled spirits and comely females, including those found at Dick's Last Resort and the Crazy Horse. "There were a few indiscretions", as stated by DXL, first round leader, during a pre-second round interview.

Scotchy Captures Cup
Fends Off Courageous Charge by Whitey
Birmingham, Alabama (April 18, 2010) - Scott "Scotchy" Gore, Chicago, IL, fended challengers to his second round lead and captured King of Soy XXII today at the Oxmoor Valley Ridge Course. The challenging track, strewn with innumerable obstacles, caused each athlete to reach from within to post scores in completion of this year's 54 hole challenge.

Scotchy's win was unexpectedly challenged by an outstanding round of gross 89, net 66, by Tom "Whitey" White - an athlete not amongst Sunday's final foursome of scoring leaders.

Deft with club and shrewd of mind, Whitey started the round with an impressive birdie on the opening hole. His entire round was completed with the same Titleist ProV1 (#2).

All athletes faced further adversity due to Alabama liquor regulations which prohibit sale of alcohol until 12 noon on Sundays, a time which found most athletes already on the back nine. Donald "DXL" Nurnberger tried to circumvent with a bag of contraband beers, but cart attendants dutifully foiled his attempts.

Scotchy's victory was an apparent testament to the athlete's profound state of relaxation throughout the tournament. When questioned, the athlete responded in his customary booming voice - often in verse - citing his prescribed regimen of Vicodin. As an apparent sufferer of a previously unknown physical ailment, the athlete's victory offers conclusive proof of the restorative properties of a physician directed prescription drug regimen.

Karl Clauss Captures 2009 King of Soy
Sunday Round Snatches Cup from Defender Smith

UNC Golf Course, Chapel Hill, NC (May 3, 2009) - In a stunning display of athletic endeavor, Karl 'Natural' Clauss, a university alumni development professional from Hamilton, New York, played a steady hand and grabbed the 2009 King of Soy from the clutches of playing partner and 2008 defender, Patrick 'Smitty' Smith of Tampa, Florida. The fate of both athletes determined by the initial 9 holes.

Clauss shot a net 66 on Sunday, for a three round total of 212. Billy 'Jonesy' Jones, Chicago, Illinois, finished nine shots behind at 221. Defending champion Smith faltered on Sunday, despite the assurance of yet another impeccably fitted Wick-Dri mock-tee golf shirt, in a vibrant primary color.

Sunday's round recorded scores from all athletes, including Donnie 'DXL' Nurnberger, Tampa, Florida, who carded incompletes on prior days. A stirring performance was also turned by Brian 'Dubby' Devlin, Dallas, Texas, who scored a net 76 on Sunday and a 6th place overall. His performance accomplished mere hours after being found unresponsive and incoherent in the basement of a local eating establishment. The quick response of local EMTs (creating slight unease to nearby athletes, undeterred in their enjoyment of the evening's banquet) preserved a finish by the entire field.
